Sometimes you look back on a day and wonder how you fit so much in. Today was one of those days. Cleaned my closet, did laundry, took down my fall decorations, put up some Christmas Decorations, cleaned the kitchen, took the dog for a long walk, made swap cards, made Turkey Salad, made apple cake, made thank you cards, a baby card, a get well card, and gift certificate cards. Oh, and the dog... he got a bath too. Such a silly boy, he went in the pond when we were on his walk. Nothing like the smell of pond water and wet dog...yuck! Now that I think of it, I should have washed my explorer inside and out! Oh well...that will have to wait. Here are a few shots I took today:
This is my cat Hunter. Yesterday I only got two things done, I made turkey stock and 8 hours later...when it was finally done...I made soup. It was so very good. Problem is, I had a migraine yesterday, and let me tell you...this cat knows when you aren't feeling well. He followed me around until I went to lay down...then he laid right next to me and didn't move an inch until I got up. It's the most wonderful thing, he goes right to whoever isn't doing well and takes care of them. When Bobby got his surgery I couldn't keep him out of his room! I tried to at first, afraid he would jump up on the bed and hurt Bobby, but anytime I opened the door he would sneak in and gently get up on the bed and lay with him. He is such a sweetheart. Unlike Jake (who we rescued) Hunter adopted us. He showed up on our doorstep one day and wouldn't leave, just stared in through the glass door. Three days later, and still threatening my kids not to feed, or touch, or talk to "that cat!" he was still there. When the weather man said take in your pets, it is going to be dangerously cold out...I caved and brought him in... just to the basement...and we were all to ignore him...of course that didn't work and here it is 12 years later and he is our best bud. When the kids were little he used to go from bed to bed and tuck each one in by laying there until they fell asleep. Started with the youngest at 8, the middle guy at 8:30, and the oldest at 9, then finally in our bed when we went to sleep. Isn't it funny how he knew our family needed him and he stuck around?
Here is a bright and sunny pretty little gift card holder. I was in a cheery mood and feeling much better when I made this today. I like how it isn't traditional green and red.

and here is my simple swap for my demo meeting tomorrow night. This shot isn't the greatest, the colors aren't true, and it is too blurry...but the sun had gone down by the time I was done so this is the best I could do. The bottom of this card is embossed so those flowers and swirls bump up off the paper, and I added glitter to them and to the berries. I love the set Le Jardin Botanique,
this is the twig of berries from that set. I guess I have been in a purple mood lately, love the eggplant/artichoke combination here with the suede mixed in for good measure. I love Stampin' Up! inks...they are the best!
Well, back to work in the morning, it was so nice having so many days off, nothing like a four day weekend, I am spoiled now! Hope you have a happy Monday!
