Stamp Some Smiles

July, what a busy month! I have lots of cards to share, starting with Stamp Camp

So I totally missed Convention this year, and I was so excited that Rose was able to go with Heather and Marie, but I wished every day that I was there too.  I will not be missing it next year.  I am going to start saving right after our next trip to Florida to work on "Magnolia Sunshine"....our cottage.  I was told by the family that the only way they could stop calling it a shack is if I gave it a name.  Cottages it seems must have names.  Since we have a beautiful magnolia tree in the yard and it is the sunshine state...and the cottage is yellow like sunshine and white like magnolias, it just seemed to fit.  I have never named a house before so it doesn't exactly roll off of my tongue...but I guess I will have to say it until it sticks.  What do you think?

I want to share my swaps that Rose and the crew brought to convention for me.  I will also be sharing our cards from July's stamp camp and some other pictures this week so check back in...

Here is a bright card that uses Greenhouse Gala designer paper along with "Studio Sketches":

I made this while I was in Maine.  It reminds me of Florida though.

Here is my attempt at collage.   I used "Charming" Do you like it?  I don't know if you can see the flowers stamped on the strip, or how the finial on the designer paper matches the green one I stamped on the oval...but I do love this card.

Here is the third swap I made using "Friends Never Fade" and my new favorite Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso paper:

I can't wait to see the swaps I get back!  I will be showing them on the window ledges at August stamp camp.  Here is the stamp camp set up:

You can see in the sun room there are cards all around the room in front of the windows.  It is a great way to get new ideas. 

Okay, now I will finally show you one of the July stamp camp cards.

This is so cute in person.  On the inside it says: "One day just isn't enough to celebrate someone as WONDERFUL as you...Let's party all Week!"  That is from the level three hostess set "Occasional Quotes".  The stamp set is Cheers to You!

Trying to catch up, here are some stamp camp cards

I am trying hard to catch up, but it isn't going well!  Here are the final card and project from last month's stamp camp, this week I will show you what we made this month....

The project was a tile coaster to put your coffee cup and a cookie on...or use as a decoration on your desk.  I loved the size of it and I have been using it a lot lately.  Wanda gave me a cup cozy at yesterday's stamp camp, so I will be bringing my tile coaster to work to use and using this coaster starting today I am using this:

Here is the final card, and I love the colors and layout...and wish I could get stacks of just this pattern paper....

Many uses for this card, I even made a thank you card with it by adding a big beautiful flower popping up off the side of the circle...and changing the words to thank you. Didn't take a picture of it, darn it!  Aren't the colors awesome?  I miss apricot already, the color is one that has retired.

Back from Maine and ready to Share! (June Stamp Camp Cards and MORE)

Rob and I spent a wonderful weekend in Maine....Ahhhh, how I love it there.  Mostly it is because of the people, the wonderful/warm/friendly people there.  Let's just say I sure am lucky to have married into this family.  We stayed with Rob's Aunt Donna...she is one of the most creative, down to earth, giving people I know...and BOY can she cook!  LOL  She doesn't read my blog (I am not sure any of my family or his family does) So it is safe to say I am not kissing up when I tell you that relaxed and welcomed is how you feel when you are at Donna's.  John is a perfect match for her and I am so glad they have each other.  We also visited with Aunt Vassie and Grammy, you remember me telling you about them and all the help they gave us during the Florida cottage adventure.  There was a picnic we went to at John's cabin deep in the woods by a rambling river...I could have stayed for a week and still wanted more.  It's funny how fast time goes by when you are truly enjoying yourself.  It was so peaceful and rejuvenating.  I laughed so hard so many times, and really enjoyed myself.  I also designed cards for my convention swaps while I was there!  It is always easy for me to be inspired by the beauty all around me when I go visit.  Here is a picture from the camp deep in the woods:

I know the colors are too pretty to be real, but this hasn't been touched.  The sky is that blue and the trees are that green.  The colors in Maine are Stunning.  Here are some cute chicks:

I don't know anything about chickens so can't tell you what kind these are, but John and Donna have chickens and baby chicks, and I just can't resist them, they are so cute!  Fresh eggs every day is pretty awesome too!

Let's just say the ride home in the truck with the trailer and this boat...um...I mean car...was a LONG one!  LOL.

Great all Occasion card, easily masculine birthday.

This is such a sweet card.  I have to take a better photo of it.  The frosting is yummy using our shimmer paint.  Next time I will show you the grouping and the project we made.  For now, I am so tired and it is back to work for me tomorrow.  So I will leave you with a Quiet Corner of Connecticut Sunset.  This is what I saw from my back deck, colors are not touched up, it really looked like fire in the sky.
