Could it be? A stamping blog post from yours truely? Yes, it really is! I can't hardly believe how over my head I have let myself get this summer. When did caos take over my routine? How did I become so unorganized? Since when do all of the "Have to do's" take the place of every "want to do"? I have a stamp that says "Do not put off until tomorrow what can be enjoyed today". Don't get me wrong, there are lots of family things I have been doing and enjoying...My husband, my daughter, my dog...we have been getting out together, picking apples...baking, walking, eating out, there have been driving lessons, trips to Maine, weekend outings. There have been Open houses and shopping and other begining of the year activities keeping us busy. Work takes up much of my time, I even worked this past Saturday (booo...hisssssss....it's been a long time since one of my two days off were taken up by work...didn't love it.) We have been to a few fairs, have you been to any yet? What I haven't been doing is STAMPING for FUN! Now that is what brings me joy, and I am missing it! I did some stamping to get ready for the last couple of stamp camps, and will be planning my cards this week for my October Stamp Camp. But where is my "for fun" stamping? I want to make a pretty little house with the "Design-A-House" (120911 is the number if you want to order it from my website, it's only 5.95!) from the holiday mini! I want to play with fabric and my big shot and the iron adhesive to make some cool 3D stuff! I want to plan a class for scrapbooking family recipes so that I can make some as Christmas Presents and my friends and stamping buddies will be able to join me and make some too! I want to make fabric Christmas ornaments. My list goes on and on! Tee heeee! Okay so I guess I need to get myself organized now don't I? Give my self goals and work towards them. Give myself some stamping time rewards. Okay, so first goal is to post 4 times this week. FOUR TIMES. This counts as one, so three more to go. Posting what I have done will make me want to do more so that I can show it to you in a post. So here is some of what I did get done while I have been away from my blog:
This is a card I made for my son Mat for his birthday in August. He is 19 now. I can't hardly believe it. He is grown and out of the house, living with his girlfriend and friends...working hard, playing hard, skating hard, living life on his own. I picture him shouting into the microphone in a very hard core punk rock kind of way "Happy Birthday, happy birthday!" LOL
Here is a card from my Stamp Camp in August:
This was a miss you card/ or a "forgot your birthday" card. I love the Cherry Cobbler and the Early Espresso together, it is just YUMMY!
Here is another card from August's Stamp Camp: I made this one as a Wedding or a Sympathy card. I had other stamps you could use to make it a birthday card or a thinking of you card as well. This is just so very elegant and beautiful in person. With just a bit of sparkle to it. Those mini half pearls are my new favorite touch...hard not to use them all up at one stamp camp by putting them on every card! LOL
One more, this is just a thank you card I made:
Pretty huh? Don't forget you can click on any of the photos and they will open in a new window. Oh how I love the simplicity of this card! So those are a few of the things I did in August. I will show you the rest of August's Stamp camp and photo of all the cards in a group the next time I post. I will also post some photos of the things we did at September's stamp camp. I am looking forward to getting back into this. I hope you are still out there.
