Sending warm wishes your way today! It is SO cold out! I hope you are all warm and snuggling with a hot chocolate, your favorite pet, and your family tonight. I am going to a Demo meeting at my upline Jan's house...or else I would be staying put! I am not a fan of cold, and that is the most polite way I can think of saying it. Can you tell that this is a snow hat hanging on the line? I was going to make this card at my last stamp camp, but my hubby didn't know what it was so I passed on the idea. LOL
I pulled in the driveway when I got home from work this afternoon and watched some brave soul in the 7 degree weather walking for exercise. "Wow! You couldn't drag me out there today!" was my first thought. I ate my lunch in the sun sheltered by my sun-room, it felt so good. As I finished up and cleared my spot my sweet Jake sounded the alarm bark letting me know someone was in the driveway headed for the house. I got up to look and it was the brave woman who had been walking ... on her way back down the street she came across some crumple mail and could make out my address ... she gave me the ripped and mangled mail that had been soggy wet and then refrozen, driven over, salted and abused. She let me know that sticking out of the snow bank on the side of the road further down the street she saw what looked to be a couple more pieces of my mail. Oh great! A few weeks back when we had one of our snow storms the plow came along and WACK! Knocked out our mailbox. I didn't realize the flag had been up and my mail was inside. The mail she gave me was a card that I had made, and I couldn't even tell who it was for, it was that mangled. So ignoring my better judgement I headed out into the freezing cold looking for the rest of what used to be my thank you cards, a bill, and a sympathy card. Oh, it was carnage! I couldn't even pull some of them out of the frozen blocks of ice/snow that had been pushed against walls as the plows went down the roads day after day over the last few weeks. I wanted to cry! I held back for fear my eyeballs would freeze and made my way back into the house. This year I thanked some of my friends and family for their gifts right in the Christmas cards I sent them. (that is how late I sent my Christmas cards...they were Christmas/New Year cards! LOL) Some people I sent seperate thank you cards. I didn't keep a list of who I thanked when and what I was thanking them for! YIKES! I almost wish I could still be oblivous to this delema and just go on happily thinking that everyone got their cards letting them know that I appreciate the time, the thought, and the love they put into giving me a gift. For those of you who are missing their card...I am currently working on it...again! I am going to try to figure out who I need to make cards for, and I truely hope I don't miss anyone...but if I miss you, please know that it isn't because I don't appreciate you! I DO! Feel free to say "my card must have been one that the snow plow ate" !
