This post is about as far from being stamping related as you can get!  LOL

I just wanted to share a few shots I took when Rob took the Dart out for it's maiden voyage of the year.  We had such a great day.  Of course the sun was shinning, but having Jake with us made the day even brighter, he is such a character!

 

I think you can click on the picture to see a bigger version.  You can also click to see the photo's individually in my gallery. We went riding around in style, with the top down and the wind blowing gently as the sun was toasty and warm.  It was a beautiful day!  After a leisurely drive up 169 we made our first stop at Canterbury Cones.  Such a pretty little spot and I must say they have the BEST ice cream, it is "Farm Fresh", and it is worth the drive!  I had a hot fudge sundae with coffee ice cream and a banana...it was my dinner.  Rob had a hot fudge Sundae with chocolate ice cream, that was his dinner.  Jake enjoyed a tiny portion of vanilla, he started by taking slow licks, but before you know it he was just gobbling the scoop up...too funny.  Then he looked to us to see if we would share, Nope...we had hot fudge so none for Jake.  Next Saturday if you bring your doggy it will get a free ice cream.  You should check them out.  Next we drove back through Griswold and stopped at

 

Josie's General Store.  I can't begin to tell you how great this store is!  The store is unique...the land it sits on is beautiful,and you can even visit the barn and see Einstein, Josie, and the rest of the animals.   Rob got Raw Milk, they have fresh eggs, honey, milk, old fashion soda with the actual bottle caps on them in the glass bottles, old fashion candy that will bring back good memories, and all kinds of little treasures.  (Okay, we found out they have opened a new Ice cream barn here!  We will be going without Jake, on the Harley during their "10% off anyone coming in on a motorcycle during the month of June!" special.)  I ended up getting a little gift for my Sunday School Students.  It is such a great place to visit, and wehave enjoyed it's beauty during all the seasons.  Ahhh, the country life.  I love it!

April Jake Watch report, Jake smiles

Okay, don't think I am crazy for saying this, but Jake smiles.  He does!  When I get home he is so happy to see me that he SMILES, look:

Okay, not the best photo I know, but the little corners of his mouth, his eyes, he smiles...at least I think so. tee heee heee.

Isn't he silly?  If you give him a denta bone or any kind of treat stick he will walk all around the house with it sticking out of his mouth and whine...that is all, just walk around and whine.  Then he will finally find a place he thinks he can bury it.  Usually by the front door by a sneaker or a towel and then he covers it.  He keeps going back to check it and sometimes will move it two or three times.  Then he will finally sit down and enjoy it.  This process takes about an hour.  How silly is that?  In this photo he has his "helicopter" tail motion going on.  It wags in a circle, so I know that even though he is whining he is happy.  I am not sure why he does this, but it is his routine and who am I to question it ... right?  I walk with him every day and on the weekend we go to the dog park.  He is finally getting a bit brave and has almost made a friend two or three times.  The hyper puppies freak him out!  LOL  Poor sweet Jake, at least he isn't shakin' Jake any more.

Stamps Great Friend stamp set Paper Baja Breeze card stock Kiwi Kiss card stock Whisper White card stock Ink Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad Baja Breeze Classic Stampin' Pad Kiwi Kiss Classic Stampin' Pad Accessories Summer Love Rub-Ons Stampin' Dimensionals

Instructions

1. Apply flower Rub-On to Baja Breeze card stock using wooden stick included with Rub-Ons assortment. Adhere to Kiwi Kiss card.
2. Stamp "Thank you" in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock. Apply leaf Rub-On to Whisper White card stock. Adhere to card.
3. Stamp butterfly image in Baja Breeze ink on separate Whisper White card stock. Trim closely. Adhere to card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Repeat step 3 using Basic Gray ink and Kiwi Kiss ink.

Jake Watch and card from a friend

Here is an update on Jake...When I brought him to the dog park this weekend some of the "regulars" were there.  The women are all in love with Jake and always give him pats and tell him how he is the cutest...I don't think their dogs mind too much! lol

I kept hearing over and over how "Jake is growing" and how he has "gotten bigger".

HUH?  Really?  Maybe it's because I see him every day, kiss him every day, hug him over and over every day, pick him up and carry him, sit him in my lap, lay on the rug with him, play with him, walk him, talk to him...every minute I can be with him, I am with him.  I take him with me everywhere but to work and church.   I don't see it.  I tried yesterday and today to see it, I just don't.  Does he look any bigger or different to you?  Here are two pictures of him taken today:
  

   

You can click on this one to see a bigger picture.  He looks the same to me, the same adorable, cuddly, softest, sweet baby boy in the world. Can you believe I haven't even had him for two months yet?  I can't imagine a day without him.  Although I think I need to train my husband, I am having problems with Jake starting to beg (Daddy feeds him off of his plate, that is a big no-no!) and "Play" biting very gently (Daddy wrestles with him and encourages this behavior, another big no-no!).  So I may just have to send my husband to obedience school!  LOL

All kidding aside, Rob and I have gotten a lot of enjoyment taking Jake for walks.  It has been a nice way for us to get away from it all and spend some time together.

I got the most thoughtful gift this week from my friend Rose (HI ROSE!!!)  She sent a bag of goodies..treats and toys..over for Jake in a red bag with this adorable card welcoming him to our family:

Isn't it sweet?  Don't you just love the dog house and the bone and the cute pup made with punches...and look at is tongue and his speckles, how sweet!  Jake loved the treats and thankfully left the card alone, I know of a few people that have dogs that eat their kids homework along with their bills, cards and kleenex, papertowels and any other papergoods in the house.  Although Jake enjoys the occasional empty tp roll  when he is able to snatch one off of the bathroom floor where my children so thoughtfully leave them....he pretty much leaves our papers alone.  But those treats, I had to put them up high on a shelf in the mudroom.  I keep all of his toys and treats in a bin up ontop of a chest in the mudroom, and he has never bothered with them before, until he got these goodies.  He can't resist them, they call to him, and I caught him trying to pull the bin down to get at them, so up they went.  I don't want him to get chubby, his belly is too close to the ground!  LOL  So that is the latest Jake watch, hope you have enjoyed looking at his cute face, if he could...he would poke his head through the computer screen and give you kisses...but since he can't do that you will just have to wait until you come and visit us at stamp camp.  See you Saturday!
